Kudos to Patrick Fitzgerald  and Amber Rhea for their project Literally, A Web Log.

How appropriate that it is what it says: An English language grammar blog tracking abuse of the word “literally”.

Language blogging – now there’s a brilliant idea, with some potential to educate and shame. So, pick your pet peeve about the use of language and blog about it. Submit your link, and I’ll add it to the blogroll.

Some, like this dictionary editor, point out that this fuss doesn’t make sense, because language changes over time. That doesn’t make the inept use of words more palatable, because the peevishness distress is less about preservation of rules and more about the demonstration of ignorance.
