In an earlier post, I offered some advice about how to write an academic blog. Cognitive Daily has picked up on this theme, and has nine ‘anti-suggestions’ on the topic of how to not write a science book. Most of the advice is applicable to any exercise in professional writing. I only take issue with Don’t Do This #7:
Conduct your research by reading other books.
Authors, take note. Even when they are well-written, your books are no good to anyone. Which raises the question, why does Dave Munger want them to be better written if he believes they are useless to researchers?
